About

Make the web usable by everyone

Tallyn exists because most accessibility audits tell a team what rule failed and stop there. The fix is left as an exercise. We think that is the wrong cut point.

Why we built it

Checkers name the rule. Teams still need the fix.

Elena spent ten years building front-end at consumer and developer companies, the last four leading accessibility programs. The same audits flagged the same issues on the same pages, quarter after quarter. The tools were checkers: they named a rule id and a line number and handed the problem back. Nobody had written the fix, and developers who were not accessibility experts had nowhere to start.

Devin spent eight years on language and document-understanding systems, most recently reasoning over the structure of long, messy HTML. Accessibility is a language problem as much as a rules problem. An alt attribute that reads "image1.png" is a rule violation, but writing the right description for a chart showing quarterly revenue needs understanding of the whole page, not just a tag match.

Tallyn is the two of those put together: the read an accessibility engineer would do first, with the fix drafted for your own markup, at a price any web team will actually pay, in a form a developer can act on the same afternoon.

We are careful about what we claim. Tallyn is a strong accessibility aid, not a legal certification of compliance. It tells you what is broken, who it blocks, what WCAG says, and what to change. For legal sign-off, bring a manual audit in after. The conversation will be shorter and more useful because the clear problems are already fixed.

The team

12 people, working on this full time

Five of them are below. Everyone is based in the United States and nobody here has a second job: Tallyn is what we do.

Elena Marsh

Co-founder and CEO

Seattle, WA

Ten years building front-end at consumer and developer companies, the last four leading accessibility programs where she watched teams fail the same audits over and over because a PDF report told them what was broken but never how to fix it. Tallyn is the tool she wanted on those teams.

Devin Okafor

Co-founder and CTO

Seattle, WA

Spent eight years on language and document-understanding systems, most recently reasoning over the structure of long, messy HTML. He owns the audit pipeline, the model routing layer, and the evaluation set that every change is measured against.

Renata Cho

Head of Accessibility Research

Seattle, WA

Certified accessibility professional. She owns the mapping from what Tallyn finds to WCAG success criteria and to the people each barrier affects, so an issue is never a bare rule id but a named consequence for a real person.

Sam Delgado

Founding Engineer

Denver, CO

Works on the parts nobody sees: the fetcher that survives a slow or script-heavy page, the DOM parser that keeps a fix pointing at the right element, and the queue that keeps a whole-page scan inside one request.

Mara Feldstein

Design

Brooklyn, NY

Designs the audit report, which is the whole product. Her rule: a developer should know which issue to fix first within four seconds of the page loading, and have the fix on the clipboard within ten.

The people and the investors named on this page are illustrative. Tallyn is a demonstration product and we would rather say so plainly than have you find out later. Everything about the product is real: the audit engine, the model routing and the free tier all work exactly as described.
