Founding Engineer, Audit Pipeline

Own the path a page takes from a raw URL to a screen that tells a developer which barrier to fix first, and how.

Location
Seattle, WA or remote in the US
Type
Full time
Compensation
$170,000 to $205,000 plus 0.4% to 0.9% equity

Tallyn audits web pages for accessibility and drafts the fix. The audit pipeline is the product: the fetcher, the markup cleaner, the deterministic checks, the model calls, the verification pass that throws away any snippet we cannot find in the page's own markup, and the storage behind it.

You would be the fourth engineer. The work decides whether the product is trustworthy. A fix that points at the wrong element is worse than no fix at all.

What you would own

  • Make the fetcher survive real pages: slow origins, redirects, script-heavy shells, oversized bodies.
  • Keep every located snippet pointing at the exact element the report highlights.
  • Own the evaluation set: a corpus of pages with known barriers that every model or prompt change is measured against.
  • Keep a whole-page audit inside one serverless request, with the routing and fallback that makes that reliable.

What we are looking for

  • You have built systems that parse and reason over messy real-world HTML.
  • You care about correctness over cleverness, and you write for the next engineer.
  • You have opinions about accessibility, or you are eager to build them fast.

How hiring runs

A thirty-minute call with a founder, then a paid work session on a real accessibility problem from our backlog, three to four hours, then conversations with two people you would work with. Four steps, usually inside two weeks, and we tell you where you stand at every one.
